About John F Patterson

John F. Patterson’s interest in Science Fiction began in 1967 when his brother-in-law handed him the Foundation Trilogy by Isaac Asimov. This began a surge of reading as John caught up on the “Golden Age” of Science Fiction. It also fostered an interest in writing that remained unfulfilled due to the demands of his career.

Attending Oberlin College and the University of Michigan, John earned a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology in 1979. After that he spend thirty years researching and developing innovative computer applications at companies like Bellcore, Sun Microsystems, and IBM. Most of his efforts focused on research and advanced development of collaborative applications with an emphasis on applications supporting simultaneous interaction of spatially separated users.

After retiring as a Distinguished Engineer from IBM in 2012, John finally had the time to fulfill his lifelong dream of writing Science Fiction. The series, Twilight on Cantizo Three, is the culmination of that dream.
